Philippe Rosier is President of orbeo. He is also President of Rhodia Energy Services and member of Rhodia Executive Committee.

Philippe Rosier is a graduate from ESPCI (Physique et Chimie de Paris) and ENSPM (Ecole des Pétroles et Moteurs - IFP), and holds an MBA from Insead.

Jérôme Malka has worked for Société Générale for 15 years. He is Head of Business Development for the Commodities Trading Group and Head of Emissions Trading. He is also Board Member of European Carbon Fund and Managing Director of orbeo.

Jérôme Malka is a graduate from SUPELEC (Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité).

Marc La Rosa joined orbeo in November 2006 as Marketing Director. Previously, he was Senior Marketer in charge of commodity derivatives sales to utility sector for SGCIB since April 2003. He joined SBCIB in April 2001 to develop asset-backed trading in the power market.

He was before with Dalkia, the energy arm of the French multi-utility Veolia Environment as Marketing Director, particularly in charge of marketing approach to industrial clients.

Marc is an engineer graduated from Polytechnique Paris.

Philippe is Marketer for Kyoto Projects and is responsible for primary CERs sales. Prior to joining orbeo, he has spent 5 years at Veolia Environnement, the world leader in environmental services, as Marketing Director in the water division; he started his career in various sales and management positions at Rhodia.

Philippe is a civil engineer (ESTP) and holds a post graduate diploma in International Business Management (Paris Dauphine University).

Emmanuel is our Market Analyst. He is in charge of fundamental supply-demand analysis, price forecast and trading strategies recommendations. He is also in charge of leading orbeo’s contribution to policy-making, through public and industry working groups, both at the EU and broader international level.
He previously spent 5 years at McKinsey & Company, as a consultant, then project manager specialized in power, gas and carbon. He had beforehand spent 4 years at Electricité de France, the largest European power utility, as an analyst of European power markets. Emmanuel graduated from ESSEC management school and holds a PhD. in Economics, dealing with macroeconomics and Kyoto Protocol flexibility mechanisms.

Benoît Marie joined orbeo in June 2006 as Deputy Director of the Resources & Operations pole. Benoît has a 12 years experience in the energy market within Société Générale Group. He had been working at Support Organization Front Office of Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking. He also was Société Générale Energie CFO for a time.

Benoît graduated from ISG (Institut Supérieur de Gestion) in Paris with a specialization in Business Finance.

Laurent joined orbeo team in October 2007. He is in charge of originating carbon credits worldwide and manages the origination team.

Laurent was previously working at the World Bank as a Deal Manager for the BioCarbon Fund. Beforehand, he was the General Manager of ONF International, the daughter company of the state owned Agency “Office National des Forêts” (the French public entity managing forests).
Laurent holds a Master of Sciences in Forestry. He is Ingénieur du Génie Rural des Eaux et Forêts (I.G.R.E.F.).

Claire settled up and manages the legal department at orbeo. Before, she was the head of legal department of Gaselys, the joint-venture between Société Générale and Gaz de France, and helped to the creation of the company and development of its activities in European energy trading, particularly Gas and Power. She previously spent ten years in the energy world (first at Elf Aquitaine then in the Commodity Trading Department of Société Générale).

Claire holds a MA in private law and an advanced degree in International Transportation – Maritime, Air and Land Transport.

Cécile joined orbeo in 2006 and is in charge of the communication.

Previously she was working as a marketing and communication manager for Diagma, a consulting firm and Azap, a software company, after having worked in India for the oil and petroleum company Total.

Cécile graduated from ESCP-EAP business school and holds a bachelor degree in Mathematics and Social Sciences from Dauphine University.

Xavier Clabaut joined orbeo in 2006 and is a member of the Sales and Marketing team.

Prior to this, Xavier spent 5 years within Société Générale M&A team specializing in the energy sector and 3 years with EDF working as an analyst on development projects and acquisitions (M&A).

Xavier holds a Masters Degree of Paris-Dauphine University.

Laurie joined orbeo early in 2007 and is a sales/marketer at orbeo.

Laurie has a diploma in Agronomic Engineering and a Master Degree in Sustainable Development (HEC Business school). She started in the energy business with an internship in origination management at Rhodia Energy.

Seng Heng job scope’s involves Clean Development Mechanism projects origination and marketing within the Asia Pacific region.

Seng Heng is a science graduate with years of experience in IT, Purchasing, Operation and General Management.

Before joining orbeo as a Marketer, Pierre Ver Elst was a Key Client Manager at Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking in London, in charge of coordinating marketing initiatives on corporate and financial institutions clients in Western and Eastern Europe.

Beforehand, Pierre has gained professional experience in Project Management within industrial groups as well as in Corporate Finance consulting in France, Germany and the UK.

Pierre is a graduate from ESCP-EAP European School of Management.

Jean-Louis joined orbeo in September 2007 as a Financial Controller.

Jean-Louis graduated from Montpellier’s School of Business and holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from Coventry Business School (UK).

He began with an internship at orbeo Operations Department after several experiences in Business Development.

Philippe de Combarieu joined orbeo in 2007 as a CO₂ trader.

Before orbeo, he was Head of Commodities Market Risk at Société Générale. Prior to this, he spent 8 years at Natixis as an Interest Derivatives Trader.

Philippe graduated from the French Business School "Institut Français de Gestion" (IFG) .

Alexis joined orbeo in December 2007. He’s in charge of emissions reduction projects origination. Prior to this, Alexis worked at POWEO, an independent power supplier, where he managed key accounts and at Selftrade, an online broker, where he developed the B2B activity. During his studies in London, Alexis was involved in various projects in the renewable energy field.

He is a graduate from ISG (Institut Supérieur de Gestion) in Paris and holds an MBA from London Business School.

Dorothy joined orbeo in early 2008. She is in charge of the operation of carbon credit projects globally. Beforehand, Dorothy worked 8 years in DNV (Det Norske Veritas) as a principle auditor for environmental, healthy & safety, quality management systems and corporate social responsibility. Dorothy holds a PhD in Environmental & Social Accountability in Imperial College, UK and an MSc in environmental monitoring & assessment from Coventry University, UK. She also holds a degree in architecture in Taiwan.

Valérie joined orbeo team in January 2008. She is in charge of the risks process assessment on origination projects. Valérie has more than 14 years experience in different activities of Rhodia Group : research and development, corporate processes, purchasing and procurement. She holds a chemical engineering degree, a Master and a PhD in chemistry from Purdue University (USA) and a MBA from University of Montreal.

Julie joined orbeo team in April 2008 as a Senior Marketer. She worked for the last 8 years as Director in Equity Capital Markets at Société Générale. Prior to this, she worked in both the Equity and F.X. derivatives departments of Société Générale. Julie holds a M.A. in Mathematics from Trinity College, Cambridge and a Master degree in Probability and Stochastic Processes (Paris IV).

Before joining orbeo as Legal Adviser in April 2008, Maria worked almost one year in Legal Departments of French banks such as BNP Paribas and Société Générale. Prior to this, she worked for 4 years as Legal Adviser in Russian Investment Company. Maria holds a degree in civil law from Novossibirk State University (Russia) and a degree in corporate and tax law from Sorbonne University.

Gautier joined orbeo’s team in May 2008. He is in charge of emission reduction projects origination. Gautier was previously working for the World Bank Carbon Finance Unit for more than two years, where he originated and structured carbon transactions in Africa. He holds a Master of Sciences in Environmental Management from the University of Nice - Sophia Antipolis.

Julie joined orbeo in May 2008 as a Legal Adviser. Previously she was working in the Legal Department of BioAlliance Pharma, a pharmaceutical company based in Paris. Julie graduated from University-Assas (Paris II) and holds a Master in International Law. She is postgraduate in International Law and Management from ESSEC Business School.

Evelyne joined orbeo’s team in May 2008. She is the team’s assistant.

Prior to this, she has worked at Rhône-Poulenc then Rhodia as an assistant in the Sales Administration, Commercial and Credit Management Departments, in the Export area for 20 years.

Cai joined orbeo in June 2008. He is in charge of managing the CO₂ Operations in Asia. Beforehand, Cai worked as an engineer at the Beijing heating & gas engineering design institute, and for Total. Since 1995, he has worked for Rhodia. Cai studied at the Engineering Institute in Beijing and also spent one year at the French Engineer School "Ecole Supérieure des Mines de Paris".

Bisser ALEXANDROV joined orbeo in September 2008 as a CO₂ trader. Before, he was working for RBS Sempra in London as an energy trader. And prior to this, he was based in Brussels (Belgium) and worked for Suez-Electrabel as an electricity trader. Bisser holds a postgraduate degree in Bank & Finance from University Paris I - La Sorbonne and he also holds a postgraduate certificate in energy economics from IFP (Institut Français du Pétrole).

Hee Tae Kwon joined orbeo in July 2008. He’s in charge of CO₂ origination in Asia Pacific region. Hee Tae was previously Head of purchasing department of Korea and Japan in Rhodia since 2001. Beforehand, he had been in charge of sales and business function mainly for petrochemical and refinery plant investment in Samsung for 7 years. Hee Tae holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry from YONSEI University, Seoul.

João Luiz Alves da Costa joined orbeo in July 2008. João Luiz has 29 years of experience with Rhodia mainly in production, R&D, engineering and process improvement in Brazil and the USA. He has actively participated in the development of the CDM projects implemented by Rhodia in Brazil. João Luiz holds a Chemical Engineering degree from UFMG (Brazil) and a specialization as expert in process for the chemical industry from ENSIC (France).

As a representative for orbeo, Makoto has been responsible for sales & marketing in Japan since mid-2007. He began his career at Sumitomo Corporation in Osaka and New-York where he was in charge of sales of fine chemicals during 20 years. Then Makoto joined Rhodia as Head of Sales for various products (silicones, isocyanates and other organic chemicals trading) in Tokyo during 13 years. Makoto holds a degree in Organic Chemical Synthesis from Kyoto University.

As a representative for orbeo, Takuo has been involved in sales & marketing in Japan since mid-2007. Takuo has 28 years experience in the chemical area with Rhone Poulenc and then Rhodia in various divisions. Since 1997 he has been working in the Planning department.

Takuo holds a doctorate in engineering (physicochemistry) from The University of Tokyo.

As a representative for orbeo, Arnaud is in charge of CO₂ origination in North America. Beforehand, he was Operation Plant Manager for Rhodia in Baton Rouge plant (Louisiana, USA) during 6 years. Arnaud has 20 years experience in the chemical area with Rhone Poulenc and then Rhodia in various divisions. Arnaud holds a Master degree in Chemical and Thermal Engineering from Cranfield Institute of Technology (UK) and a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from Compiegne University of Technology (France).

Claire joined orbeo in March 2009, as Director of the Resources & Operations department. This department includes Finance, Accounting, Risk Management and Information Systems. Previously in charge of private equity and investment banking within ABN AMRO where she ran the French Audit Group department, Claire was also supervising eight Southern European countries until 2007. Before that, she worked at Société Générale, as a Supervisor for Audit and Equity Jobs Worldwide. Claire graduated from Reims Management School, and later specialized as a chartered accountant.

Erwan joined orbeo in January 2009 as a Process Development Manager. He is in charge of supervising the evolution of the Information System and defining the processes of the new products. Beforehand, Erwan gathered a 10-year experience in Capital Markets within Société Générale as Project Manager for the Commodities derivatives group, COO for Interest Rate Derivatives group. He also worked as a senior auditor for KPMG Audit France, specializing in the bank insurance field. Erwan holds a degree from Bordeaux school of Management and HEC Mc Gill Montreal, where he specialized in market finance.

Guilhem joined the CO₂ Operations Team in November 2008. Previously, Guilhem worked during 3 years for Arkema China Investment in Shangai (China). He was Deputy Project Manager of a CDM project. Beforehand, he had various experiences as a trainee in Grand Paroisse (TOTAL’s subsidiary) and Nylstar. Guilhem graduated from CPE Lyon (Lyon School of Chemistry, Physics and Electronics, France), and holds a Master in international industrial project management of the UTBM (Université Technologique de Belfort Montbelliard, France).

Joseph See Shean Long joined orbeo in November 2008. Based in Asia, he is in charge of analysing and monitoring emission reduction projects in Asia. Beforehand, Joseph worked during two years as a CDM Consultant at Aretae, a company specialised in sustainable development. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from National University of Singapore.

Junji has been Marketing Manager for orbeo in Rhodia Japan since mid of 2007. Previously, he was Head of Marketing for pharmaceutical ingredients department in Aventis during 4 years. Prior to this, he has been Marketing Manager for pharmaceutical ingredients and food additives for 20 years in Rhône Poulenc Japan. Junji is graduated from Food Science of National Fisheries University.

Olivier joined orbeo in February 2009. As a Financial Controller, he is in charge of ensuring the efficient use of orbeo’s financial resources to support the development of the company. Prior to this, Olivier worked for the Finance & Development Division of Société Générale Group. Olivier started his career working for Indosuez Emerging Markets in London, before joining a management consulting firm in France. Olivier is a graduate from HEC School of Management and holds a MBA from INSEAD.

Pascal joined orbeo in January 2009 as Director for CO₂ Operations department. He has been holding the same position for Rhodia since 2006 where he developed CDM projects, JI projects, and methodologies. He has over 10 years of industrial experience within the Rhodia group, where he held several positions such as Corporate Strategy Project Manager, Plant Manager and Quality Manager in France and Italy. Pascal is an engineer graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique of Paris and holds a Master A. Sc. in Biotechnology, from the Ecole Polytechnique of Montréal in Canada.
